On August 21st, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Nam province summarized the 2023-2024 school year and outlined key tasks for the 2024-2025 school year.
According to Thai Viet Tuong, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Nam province, in the 2023-2024 school year, the Department will advise the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee to issue policies on education development to effectively implement the guidelines and policies of the Party, the State, and the Ministry of Education and Training.

As a result, the quality of education has improved, as evidenced by the overall results, student excellence competitions, and national-level examinations.
The Department has also made good preparations to successfully organize the 2024 high school graduation exam; and successfully host the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024, phase 1, region III.
However, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Nam province also acknowledges that the province's education sector still has many shortcomings and limitations.
Of these, only 427 schools at all levels met national standards, representing 58.8%; with the lowest rate at the high school level.
The quality of education in the province is uneven, with disparities between mountainous and lowland areas, and between high-quality education and mass education…
Local teacher shortages and surpluses in certain subjects and units still occur. The organization of subject selection at the high school level according to the 2018 general education program has not fully met students' aspirations because the structure of the teaching staff does not satisfy students' selection trends.
The minimum teaching facilities and equipment are inadequate; cultural and sports facilities, although invested in, are still lacking due to limited financial resources, affecting the goal of developing students' comprehensive abilities as required by the education program.
In the 2023-2024 school year, the education sector in Quang Nam province has 725 public schools with more than 346,000 students in 11,012 classes.
The province has 758 private preschools and 70 non-public schools with over 30,000 students in 1,466 classes.
In addition, the province has one Continuing Education Center, 22 community learning centers, 131 computer and foreign language centers; 12 study abroad counseling centers; and 25 extracurricular education centers.
The entire education sector has a total of over 28,600 officials, teachers, and staff. The percentage of management staff and teachers meeting the training standards according to the 2019 Education Law is over 88%.
