The April 30th and May 1st holidays mark the start of the peak domestic tourism season in Binh Thuan. This year, the holiday period has been extended to five consecutive days. This is generating high expectations for a vibrant tourism season, bringing Binh Thuan closer to its goal of welcoming over 9.5 million tourists in 2024.

According to accommodation establishments and travel companies, bookings for rooms and tours during this year's April 30th and May 1st holiday have been booming for over a month. Most resorts in the Ham Tien and Mui Ne areas have recorded relatively high booking numbers, with occupancy rates ranging from 60-90%, and some reaching maximum capacity. The majority of guests are opting for 3-day, 2-night packages; the peak period is from April 27th to 29th.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Hung, Business Director of Caty-Mui Ne Resort, said: "Our occupancy rate during the holiday season is estimated to reach 90-100%. Unlike previous years, this year's customer market is mostly from the South and neighboring provinces, especially Ho Chi Minh City. Besides corporate groups, small groups and families traveling by private car still dominate. At this point, facilities, staffing, and safety measures such as rescue and drowning prevention have all been meticulously prepared and are ready to serve tourists."

Besides its strengths in beach tourism, to commemorate the 49th anniversary of the complete liberation of Southern Vietnam and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024), Binh Thuan also recorded a large number of visitors coming to explore historical sites. Among them, the Provincial Party Committee's base during the resistance war against the US; the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Binh Thuan Branch; and the Duc Thanh School historical site… continued to be popular destinations for visiting and research groups during this period.

Visitors can visit the Duc Thanh Historical Site to see the thematic photo exhibition "President Ho Chi Minh and the Glorious Victory of the Nation". At the same time, it highlights the historical value and significance, and the contemporary relevance of the Great Victory of Spring 1975.

Alongside this, a series of spectacular Carnival activities will take place at the NovaWorld Phan Thiet coastal tourism and entertainment complex. The highlight of the festival is a grand and explosive music party running from April 27th to 30th, featuring many renowned artists. In addition, entertainment areas such as Dino Park (dinosaur territory), Safari Cafe, Wonderland Water Park, Circus Land amusement park, etc., will offer new and exciting experiences for visitors. Furthermore, a low-altitude fireworks display will be held to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country.

According to the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, since the beginning of the year, thanks to the synchronized and effective implementation of solutions to attract tourists; focusing on tourism promotion and advertising activities; and especially inheriting the effect from the National Tourism Year 2023, Binh Thuan continues to show strong growth in tourism development. In just the first three months of the year, the province welcomed more than 2.2 million visitors; of which international visitors reached 121,000 (an increase of 78% compared to the same period last year). Tourism revenue is estimated at 5,700 billion VND (an increase of 6%).
