Quickly resolve registration problems for transport business vehicles that have not changed their vehicle registration

The Ministry of Construction has just sent a document to the Vietnam Register regarding the resolution of the Vietnam Automobile Transportation Association's proposal on vehicle registration for transport business.

According to statistics from the Vietnam Automobile Transportation Association and local Construction Departments sent to the Ministry of Construction , up to now, there are 114 transport business vehicles facing difficulties in vehicle inspection because the vehicles have changed their license plates to yellow background but have not changed their vehicle registration to be consistent, concentrated in localities such as: Hai Phong (22 vehicles), Dong Thap (3 vehicles), Ninh Binh (15 vehicles), Thanh Hoa (51 vehicles), Ho Chi Minh City (7 vehicles), Lang Son (4 vehicles) and Thai Nguyen (12 vehicles).

There are more than 100 transport business vehicles having difficulty with registration.

According to the Ministry of Construction, since January 1, 2025, when the regulations of the law on road traffic order and safety have come into effect, many transport businesses have changed their license plates to yellow background but have not yet completed the procedure to change the vehicle registration certificate from the symbol "T" to the symbol "V" due to administrative procedures, especially the process of withdrawing the vehicle registration certificate that is mortgaged at the bank.

Currently, there are still some businesses that, due to force majeure (such as credit loans from credit institutions being prosecuted, investigated, etc.), cannot change the vehicle registration certificate to match the license plate, affecting business operations.

Faced with this reality, the Ministry of Construction requested the Vietnam Register to guide the registration facilities to conduct inspections of vehicles that have changed to yellow license plates but have not changed their vehicle registration certificates according to the list of vehicles provided by the Vietnam Automobile Transport Association and a number of Departments of Construction. At the same time, continue to update the list of other vehicles that also encounter the above problems from local Departments of Construction to the Department for resolution, ensuring that there is no disruption to the legal transportation business activities of enterprises.
