The plum picking festival was held for the first time in Yen Chau district in the border commune of Phieng Khoai, which is the commune with the largest plum growing area in the district with 2,300 hectares. Favorable climate and natural conditions, along with the application of scientific and technological advances by the people, have resulted in high productivity and quality of plum trees here.
In 2025, the Festival will be held on May 23.
Currently, the whole commune has nearly 500 hectares of plum in Phieng Khoai which is recognized as a high-tech production area. Thanks to the application of technical advances in care, drip irrigation, and biological pest control, the quality of plums has been significantly improved. The products have been granted a growing area code, meeting the conditions for traceability, opening up opportunities to reach large domestic and foreign markets.
