Back in 2022, Sony overhauled its PlayStation Plus subscription service on a large scale. In doing so, it introduced a new tier called PS Plus Premium, which included classic games from older PS platforms. Since then, Sony has continued to release titles from older platforms on PS Plus (and the PlayStation Store), but notably, PS2 games have been discontinued.

The first three PS2 titles will be coming to PS Plus on June 11th.

Now, this will soon be resolved as Sony plans to bring PS2 games to current hardware after numerous requests from fans. Starting this month, Sony will be bringing the first wave of PS2 games to PlayStation Plus (PS Plus).
Scheduled for release on June 11th, the first PS2 game lineup will include Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, and Tomb Raider Legend. All three games will be available for free download and play for PS Plus Premium members. The trio also appears to be available for purchase separately through the PS Store. Each game is also likely to feature new graphical features and titles when ported to the modern platform.
In the future, Sony seems poised to bring more PS2 games to PS Plus. This is clearly good news, given the vast catalog of PS2 games that fans are eager to see more widely accessible on current PlayStation hardware. Of course, it remains to be seen whether these beloved games will be successful on PS4 or PS5.
