SpaceX successfully launched 21 Starlink satellites into orbit

The satellites were launched into orbit by a Falcon 9 rocket from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 12:35 a.m. ET, SpaceX said.

On the morning of December 23 (US time), private space company SpaceX successfully launched 21 Starlink satellites into orbit.

The satellites were launched into orbit by a Falcon 9 rocket from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 12:35 a.m. ET, SpaceX said.

SpaceX confirmed that 21 satellites had successfully entered orbit, including 13 satellites equipped with technology to connect directly to mobile phones.

This is the 14th launch of the Falcon 9 rocket on this mission.

SpaceX hopes the Starlink system will bring high-speed broadband internet service to areas where internet was previously unstable, too expensive or completely unavailable.
