2025 is the 8th season, taking place in the context of the country entering a period of accelerating the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, which has left a special mark.

Through a serious and objective evaluation process, 52 outstanding agencies, businesses, public service units and individuals were honored at this year's Award Ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hong, Chairman of the Vietnam Digital Communications Association, emphasized: “Digital transformation is no longer a choice but an inevitable requirement for all industries and fields. VDA not only honors but also spreads good models and initiatives, promoting the goal of making Vietnam a prosperous, creative and sustainable digital nation.”

The highlight of VDA 2025 is the addition of the individual honor category for the first time, to honor those who have made great contributions to the national digital transformation. The outstanding individuals awarded this year are those who have had outstanding works, initiatives and activities, clearly demonstrating the role: "people are the center of digital transformation".

Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thanh Nhan, Deputy Head of the Department of Information Technology Application and Immigration Records Management, Department of Immigration Management, Ministry of Public Security is one of three outstanding individuals honored in this year's new category. In his advisory role, the Department of Immigration Management has proposed a plan to deploy a public service of issuing full-process passports to citizens. People anywhere, with just a mobile device, a level 2 electronic identification account and an internet connection, can submit their passport application online and receive their passport at home via the public postal service.

Another improvement is that previously, if Vietnamese citizens wanted to make a passport with an electronic chip, they had to go directly to the Immigration Department to collect fingerprints. However, the Immigration Department boldly proposed that the Ministry's leaders approve the reuse of fingerprints collected when people registered for citizen identification to enter into the data of the electronic passport. Therefore, the Immigration Department has completed the implementation of the full public service in issuing electronic passports to citizens 3 months ahead of schedule.

It can be seen that the award-winning categories in 2025 continue to reflect strong creativity and the ability to apply modern technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, Internet of Things (IoT) or blockchain into practice.

Dr. Nguyen Quan, Chairman of the Final Jury, commented: “This year’s winning entries all have technological depth, high reach, and focus on data and information security. Many models have the potential to be replicated and integrated into the national digital ecosystem, contributing to improving governance efficiency, saving costs, and improving services for people and businesses.”

After 8 seasons, Vietnam Digital Awards has reached more than 36,000 agencies, organizations and businesses, attracted nearly 2,600 entries and honored more than 450 outstanding units, products, solutions and individuals in the national digital transformation journey.

The Organizing Committee affirms that it will continue to improve the organization method, constantly improve the quality and reputation of the Vietnam Digital Transformation Award in the coming years, and continue to accompany management agencies, the business community and the whole society in the process of creating a strong and prosperous digital Vietnam.
