The program aims to discuss and gather expert opinions on intellectual property and copyright infringement, in light of the current state of copyright infringement in Vietnam; and to support young people, students starting businesses, and creative enterprises in building a strong Vietnamese creative brand system, establishing itself through milestones of 50+ and progressing towards 100+, thereby transforming creativity into a national asset.
According to the organizers, thanks to the contributions of individuals and businesses, ideas have been transformed into intellectual property, especially content ownership in the digital economy . Therefore, it is necessary to focus on building a culture of intellectual property, using technology to protect copyrights, and making it the foundation for sustainable development.
Specifically, the enforcement of the Intellectual Property Law includes the following main pillars: perfecting the legal framework, raising awareness through copyright awareness campaigns and the Vietnam 50+ campaign using blockchain technology; and granting legal copying rights and using NFTs 50+ with blockchain technology for traceability and preventing unauthorized use.
In addition, national symbols are being built through the Grand Triumphal Arch Square, and the "Made by Vietnam" community record program features 1 million creative ideas, inspiring the younger generation.
Mr. Mai Tu Anh, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Copyright Association, stated that in the context of a world undergoing a strong transformation with artificial intelligence, big data, and blockchain technology, intellectual property is not only a right but also a strategic resource, a key to unlocking the digital economy and international integration for Vietnam.
In fact, leading countries like the United States have turned copyright into an economic driver, contributing 6.7% to their national GDP. Meanwhile, Vietnam is facing a major challenge, ranking 9th in the world for copyright infringement rates.
“I call on innovative businesses and the younger generation to build a culture of intellectual property, participate in the Vietnam 50+ journey, and contribute ideas to the digital community record ‘Made by Vietnam’… Ho Chi Minh City, in its pioneering role, will continue to be the leading force, connecting all resources to realize the creation of a transparent and sustainable ecosystem,” Mr. Mai Tu Anh emphasized.
