Visiting Cho Moi during the Tet holiday, the atmosphere remains as bustling and vibrant as it was when it was the economic, political , and social center of Cho Moi district in the past. Huynh Thi Nguyet Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People's Council of Cho Moi commune, happily shared: “Party building and the political system have achieved many positive results. People's lives have improved. Most notably, the organizational structure after the merger has been gradually consolidated and operates stably. Personnel work is carried out according to the correct procedures, ensuring democracy and transparency; the team of cadres and Party members basically meets the requirements of the tasks in the new period. Party inspection, supervision, and discipline have been strengthened; administrative discipline and order, and the exemplary responsibility of cadres and Party members, especially those in leadership positions, have been emphasized.”
With the unity and close supervision of the collective leadership, the Party Committee and the commune government have led socio -economic development to achieve many important results. In 2025, 20 out of 20 main targets were met or exceeded, with 7 targets significantly exceeding the set plan. According to Nguyen Trong Tri, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Cho Moi commune: “Agricultural production is stable; national target programs, especially the new rural development and sustainable poverty reduction programs, have been implemented effectively. Administrative reform and digital transformation have made clear progress. The Public Administrative Service Center operates smoothly, ranking second out of 102 communes, wards, and special zones in the province. Culture, social affairs, and social security are given due attention and implemented well. National defense and security are maintained.”
According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Tri, by 2025, the average per capita income of the commune will reach 86.79 million VND; the poverty rate will decrease to 1.17%. Agricultural production value will reach 906 billion VND, an increase of 3.98% compared to the same period in 2024; industry and construction will reach 397 billion VND, an increase of 10.8%; and trade and services will reach 1,464.4 billion VND. Various industries and small-scale handicrafts will develop diversely, focusing on local strengths such as shipbuilding, barge construction, transportation, scrap recycling, brick production, and woodworking.
In Thi 1 hamlet, home to 766 households and 3,231 residents, with 89 Party members, the hamlet's Party branch has consolidated its position within the political system and focused on comprehensive leadership in all areas. Mr. Nguyen Ba Loi, Deputy Secretary of the Party branch and Head of the People's Committee of Thi 1 hamlet, shared: “With the spirit of unity and responsibility of cadres, Party members, and the people, the Party Committee has led the Party branch and the People's Committee of the hamlet to achieve many important results. Military recruitment met the targets set by higher authorities. The rate of people participating in health insurance is high. The hamlet maintains its status as a cultural hamlet. The hamlet's Party branch was recognized by the Cho Moi Commune Party Committee as having excellently completed its tasks in 2025; 13 Party members were recognized as having excellently completed their tasks.”
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong, Director of Vinh Quang Traditional Medicine Production and Trading Private Enterprise, shared: “As local residents and business owners, we are delighted that socio-economic development is progressing, contributing to improving people's lives. A stable economy leads to a peaceful population, and then businesses will thrive.”
The achievements in 2025 are thanks to the timely concretization of the Central and Provincial Party Committee's guidelines, resolutions, and directives by the Party Committee of Cho Moi commune; the innovation of working methods and procedures; and the improvement of advisory quality in conjunction with administrative reform and the application of information technology in leadership, direction, management, and operation. From this foundation, Cho Moi commune will confidently embark on a new, more sustainable development path in 2026.
