This score includes the international language certificate conversion score, bonus points, priority points, in which IELTS 7.0 certificate is converted to 10 English points. The remaining 2/6 majors with a benchmark score of 30/30 are International Relations of the Academy of Military Science and Medicine of the Military Medical Academy. This benchmark score applies to female candidates because each school only reserves 2-3 quotas for this group.

At most pedagogical universities across the country, the admission scores for many majors are high, including some majors with a score above 29 points. Explaining the reason why the benchmark scores for teacher training majors are among the top in university admission scores in 2025, many experts said that there are two main groups of reasons. The first group of reasons is that the quotas for teacher training majors from 2021 are determined based on the needs and orders of provinces and cities. However, for many reasons, the number of teachers "ordered" by provinces and cities according to recruitment needs is actually only about 70% of the quota compared to the years before Decree 116.

In the context of a sharp increase in the number of candidates applying for the Pedagogy group, in 2024 alone it increased by over 80%, equivalent to 200,000 wishes, but the training quota did not increase, leading to high competition, pushing up the benchmark score. The second reason is related to the mechanism and preferential policies when in recent years, the Party and the State have had many policies to support students studying Pedagogy; the salary and income policies of teachers have also improved significantly. Specifically, the living allowance of 3.63 million/month for students studying teacher training majors according to Decree 116/2020/ND-CP has helped pedagogy students feel secure when studying.

In addition, the Law on Teachers, which was passed by the National Assembly and will take effect from January 1, 2026, also stipulates that "teachers are ranked at the highest salary level in the administrative career salary scale system". In addition, teachers are also entitled to preferential allowances and other allowances depending on the nature of the job and regional conditions, according to the law. This salary policy has a positive effect on the teaching profession and has attracted great attention from families with students taking the exam.
