Innovation in action
Previously, youth movements were often associated with enthusiastic campaigns and a high level of initiative. Now, the approach is different. Every activity of the youth in Phu Tho is meticulously prepared, linked to the practical needs of the people, so that the work is not just a movement but yields long-term and practical results. 1,398 youth projects and initiatives are linked to specific locations: the "Bright, Green, Clean, and Beautiful Youth Road" in Ha Hoa, the "Plastic-Free Village" model in Thanh Son, the "House of Compassion" project for poor households in Yen Lap... 489,000 trees have been planted to green barren hills and improve the living environment – a new, longer-term, and more substantial form of volunteerism.
The innovation is also reflected in how the Youth Union has gone beyond simply organizing movements, transforming the spirit of volunteerism into a driving force for entrepreneurship. Trips like "Green Sunday" and "Winter Volunteer" are no longer just about planting trees, cleaning up trash, or giving gifts, but have become "practical learning spaces" that help young people hone their skills and see economic development opportunities right where they live.
From that experience, many ideas have taken shape. In Lam Thao, many youth-led green economic models are thriving. Youth Union branches provide capital and technical support, working alongside members to build clean agricultural cooperatives, grow safe vegetables, bring products to e-commerce platforms, and connect with the local OCOP program. In Tan Son, the youth movement linked to community tourism has opened up new avenues for entrepreneurship. Many Muong and Dao ethnic minority youth union members participate in homestay businesses, learning how to promote through Facebook and TikTok, and introducing local specialties to tourists. This approach not only generates income but also contributes to preserving local culture.

The Thong Nhat Ward Youth Union launched the youth project "Bilingual English-Vietnamese document introducing the Muong Cultural Heritage Museum".
In the first nine months of 2025, over 198,000 youth union members and young people participated in volunteer campaigns, nearly 1,900 units of blood were donated, and hundreds of health and environmental protection awareness sessions were organized in remote areas. Wherever there are difficulties, the helping hand of young people is there. However, what is noteworthy is that they come not only to help but to contribute to change: supporting people in switching crops, guiding them in using online public services, teaching students digital skills... |
Innovation – for the youth of our homeland today – is present in every small action, so that each action touches real life and brings real results.
Innovation in approach
Along with innovation in action, the Phu Tho Youth Union at all levels is taking steady steps on the journey of creating innovative approaches, so that each youth movement is not only vibrant but also widespread, effective, and relevant to the digital age.
Comrade Nguyen Trung Kien - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union - affirmed: "What we aim for is a modern, professional Youth Union organization that remains close to young people. All activities must shift from administrative management to service, accompanying young people, both in real life and in the digital space."
This spirit is clearly reflected in every specific change: from manual management to digital data-driven operation, from traditional meetings to more convenient and transparent online platforms. Currently, 100% of members register for learning, training, and activities on the "Vietnamese Youth" application; meeting invitations, attendance checks, document submissions, and statistics are all done electronically. Along with this, hundreds of fan pages, websites, TikTok channels, and podcasts of Youth Union branches have been created, becoming forums for members to share information, spread good deeds, and connect the youth community.
Innovation is also evident in the model of community-based digital technology groups, where youth union members help people use public services, make electronic payments, and search for information online. In the mountainous areas of Tan Son or Thanh Thuy, it's not uncommon to see young people bringing laptops and phones to people's homes to guide them in registering for health insurance or declaring land ownership. The creativity of Phu Tho's youth lies there – using technology with a heart of service, so that digital citizenship is not just a concept, but a concrete, relatable image in rural life.
The reorganization of administrative units and the shift to a two-tiered local government model also placed new demands on the Youth Union apparatus. The youth of the Fatherland quickly adapted: 148 grassroots Youth Union organizations were restructured, and 206 young cadres received training and professional development. In many places, a commune secretary simultaneously manages administrative work and oversees youth movements through digital platforms, a more streamlined and effective approach.
From green building projects and startup ideas to the way the Youth Union operates in the digital space, all are contributing to a longer journey: Building the homeland with youthful energy and faith. And perhaps, it is in each of these small changes that we see the future of our ancestral land being written with hope.
