Suzuki is once again expanding its middleweight twin-cylinder big-displacement motorcycle platform with the new GSX-8T and GSX-8TT, which are said to be inspired by the roadsters of the 1960s and 1970s.

Both the Suzuki GSX-8T and TT will be available in dealerships in a few weeks and use the same 776cc parallel twin engine with a 270-degree crankshaft as the modern streetfighter GSX-8S, sportbike GSX-8R and V-Strom 800.

Like its siblings, the engine has a balance shaft to reduce vibration, plus a short silencer that exits under the rider’s right foot. They’re also housed in the same steel frame as the GSX-8S, and share the same subframe.

Both versions feature a neo-retro naked bike design that makes them a direct rival to the Honda CB650R. The TT is distinguished by a small front spoiler – said to be inspired by race bikes of the past, such as the Yoshimura GS1000 custom that first competed in the late 1970s.

Like other Suzuki 800 models, both models get traction control, three riding modes, USB-C charging ports, two-way quickshifters, and a color TFT instrument panel.
6-7928.jpg
Both versions get a new 16.5-litre fuel tank, seat, and handlebars – complete with knuckle-mounted mirrors. The new tank is surrounded by new radiator shrouds – black on the TT and grey on the T.
7-8894.jpg
There’s also a round LED headlight that bears a strong resemblance to the Honda CB650R, with the TT getting the aforementioned fairing. The bike also gets an under-engine skid plate and a flatter seat profile that’s said to be reminiscent of racers of yore.

Another difference between the two bikes is the inverted KYB forks, which are black on the TT and yellow on the T. They only differ in colour, with both taken from the existing 8S model.
9-5063.jpg
Both bikes use KYB monoshocks, along with 310mm front discs mated to radial-mounted Nissin calipers – again shared with the 8S. A 240mm disc is at the rear, with both front and rear brakes equipped with ABS.

Suzuki has announced UK pricing for both the GSX-8T and TT. Prices for the T start at £9,599 and rise to £9,999 for the TT. The naked version is available with a Candy Burnt Gold, Metallic Matt Steel Green or Metallic Matt Black fuel tank.

Meanwhile, the Suzuki GSX-8TT comes in two colour options – Pearl Matt Shadow Green with yellow wheels, and Glass Sparkle Black with red wheels, along with red and yellow decals.
