Szczesny listens to his wife

Szczesny has not decided whether to stay at Barcelona or not.

The Polish goalkeeper is considering staying at Barcelona, confirming the club offered him a two-year contract extension before this summer's transfer window opens.

“I don’t know anything about the future,” Szczesny told Canal Plus . “I’ve made no secret of the fact that I’ve received a two-year extension offer from the club, but I need to discuss it with my family to find the best option for us. I think I need to consider it with my family, with my wife, so I haven’t made a decision yet.”

Szczesny further revealed that his wife, Ukrainian pop star Marina Luczenko, is behind most of the family-related life decisions.

"I'm not ashamed of it," Szczesny laughed. "I'll let Luczenko have a big say in my future at Barcelona." Szczesny and Luczenko married in 2016, after meeting three years earlier while he was playing for Arsenal.

The former Juventus goalkeeper then explained: “I usually make football decisions, but this is a special case because we came to Barcelona with the plan to stay for a year to pursue our dream, then return to play golf. There are also logistical aspects like school, moving house, and things like that.”
