Mr. Greg Norman is an Australian golf legend who has been accompanying Vietnam tourism since 2018 as Tourism Ambassador. During his first term (2018-2021), he made a strong impression by contributing to making Vietnam become "Asia's Best Golf Destination" 8 times in a row and " World's Best Golf Destination" 2 times (2019, 2021), voted by World Golf Awards - a prestigious international award in the golf field, part of the World Travel Award system.
He also cooperated with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (now the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism) to participate in activities to promote and advertise Vietnam tourism.
Besides being the representative image for the Golf section of the Vietnam.travel website, Mr. Greg Norman is also a "storyteller", sharing experiences, moments, emotions about landscapes, cuisine and interesting places when traveling to Vietnam, introducing them to international friends through his personal social networking site.

He also made a clip promoting Vietnam tourism with the message "A great destination to experience golf" at FLC Ha Long golf course; and connecting and inspiring the domestic community, promoting Vietnamese people to become "tourism ambassadors" in their own community.
With his global influence and extensive network, Mr. Greg Norman has provided consulting and connecting international events to Vietnam, typically bringing the International Series Vietnam tournament of the Asian Tour system to KN Cam Ranh Links golf course, where he is the main design architect.
He also participates in promoting Vietnam on international media channels such as CNN, CNBC, Golf Channel, Golf Digest, etc., contributing to positioning Vietnam as an emerging golf destination in the region and globally. At the same time, he actively participates in many activities to share experience and expertise in consulting on golf course design, organizing golf tournaments in Vietnam, etc.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Ho An Phong affirmed: The appointment and conferment of the title of Vietnam Tourism Ambassador to Mr. Greg Norman will create a professional and influential brand representative, helping to promote the image of Vietnam in general and the image and brand of tourism in particular in a consistent and impressive manner in the international market.
"I believe that, in his capacity as Vietnam Tourism Ambassador for the 2025-2030 term, Mr. Greg Norman will continue to promote his role, prestige, influence, and above all, his understanding of Vietnamese culture and people to actively promote the image of Vietnam in general and Vietnamese tourism in particular to the world; spreading the message that Vietnam is an ideal destination for international tourists as well as golf tourism," the Deputy Minister emphasized.

The continued appointment of Mr. Greg Norman is part of the national tourism promotion strategy, especially when Vietnam aims to not only attract large numbers of visitors but also improve the quality of spending, extend the length of stay, and attract high-end customers.
According to the plan, in the new term, Mr. Greg Norman will continue to promote Vietnam golf tourism on personal media platforms with more than 175,000 cumulative followers, aiming to raise international recognition of Vietnam's golf destination; at the same time, connect and organize international golf tournaments in Vietnam, including a plan to coordinate with LIV Golf to bring a top tournament to Vietnam within the framework of the Ambassador's term; deploy the Greg Norman Golf Academy chain to train the young generation of golfers, popularize golf in physical education, creating conditions for Vietnamese people to access this sport early.
He will also participate in consulting on developing policies for sustainable golf course management and development, combining environmental protection and green tourism development, proposing a program for inspecting and ranking international standard golf courses; connecting golf tourism with heritage tourism; continuing to coordinate and participate in activities promoting Vietnam tourism in general and golf tourism in particular at tourism-cultural programs and events taking place in the US and Australia organized and participated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism; continuing to build "golf course diplomacy" - a form of soft connection between Vietnam and the international business, sports and tourism community.
