What should drivers be aware of?

Noi Bai Airport officially implements cashless toll collection in all lanes.

Accordingly, the system of cashless payment lanes and automated non-stop payment collection for parking services at Noi Bai International Airport has completed its trial operation period and has been officially implemented throughout the airport.

Specifically, Terminal T1 has 9 entry lanes and 10 exit lanes; non-stop toll collection has been implemented stably since the beginning of December 2024.

At Terminal 2, which has 7 entrance lanes and 11 exit lanes, efforts are being made to complete the final stages to ensure the system operates smoothly from December 20, 2024.

Accepted payment methods at toll booths include: traffic toll collection account (VETC/VDTC); bank card, QR code payment, e-wallet; and cash payment.

Based on monitoring and statistics, the cashless and automated non-stop toll collection systems for parking services at Terminals T1 and T2 are operating stably, ensuring accuracy in collecting service fees, saving time for customers, and resolving localized congestion at toll booths during peak hours.

Currently, all lanes accept the mixed payment method. In the future, once data on the percentage of vehicles using ETC cards for payment at the airport is available, Noi Bai International Airport will plan for both purely ETC toll lanes and mixed toll lanes to shorten vehicle transit time.

What should drivers be aware of?

To ensure quick and convenient vehicle entry and exit at the airport, representatives from Noi Bai International Airport advise vehicle owners to check and ensure that their vehicles have electronic toll collection tags and that their electronic toll collection accounts have sufficient funds to pay the service fees.

Vehicle owners also need to ensure their license plates are clean, not bent, or faded to increase the recognition rate for cameras when the vehicle enters the toll station. Vehicles with sufficient funds in their ETC cards will have their fees automatically deducted and will pass through quickly, preventing drivers from stopping and causing congestion for vehicles behind them.

With the official implementation of automated toll collection lanes before Christmas and New Year's Day, representatives at Noi Bai Airport expect to avoid congestion at toll points as before.

The project for cashless and automated non-stop collection of parking fees, invested by the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), has been approved for implementation at 21 airports managed by ACV.

Currently, five airports have successfully implemented this conversion: Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang , Cat Bi, and Phu Bai.
