The program is coordinated by Saigon Books with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and is part of the "Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2025" event series, with the goal of applying technology to create a smart, dynamic and sustainable city, contributing to the development of the city's tourism industry.

The talk show featured prestigious experts in the field of AI and technology: Dr. Le Truong Hien Hoa - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, MSc. Dao Trung Thanh - Deputy Director of the Institute of Blockchain Technology and Artificial Intelligence (ABAII). Mr. Bung Tran - Founder of AI Education, lecturer of Google for Education, took on the role of coordinating and connecting the talk show content.

The talk show consisted of three parts, in which speakers shared profound views on AI in the fields of tourism, education , and life.

Speakers shared about the application of AI in various areas of life.

MSc. Dao Trung Thanh shared that the current problem is not whether we use AI or not, but how we live and work with AI.

Currently, AI has become a popular "infrastructure" in all fields such as tourism, culture, health , education... With the current speed of development and coverage, if we do not want to be left behind and can adapt, we must use AI.

To further integrate and develop the city, he emphasized that we need to promote digital transformation in all industries.

AI can help improve work performance; a new graduate with experience in using ChatGPT can be as productive as a veteran. Therefore, we also need to invest in education and popularize AI in schools.

According to Dr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, to develop tourism, it is necessary to develop infrastructure such as transportation and culture in parallel. Some AI applications in tourism include AI digital maps; currently, Ho Chi Minh City has a 360-degree digital map along with digitized tourism data. This creates conditions for tourists to understand better before coming to Vietnam and promotes the development of the tourism industry.

Currently, in the "Smart City" project, there is a "Smart Tourism" project, focusing on building a shared data system for tourism.

This is a platform where units can enter and share data in the tourism sector, helping businesses have more basis to develop their own systems.

When asked about the widespread wave of layoffs, businesses cutting staff to compete with AI and automation, Dr. Le Truong Hien Hoa shared: "In the state, the elimination of staff and replacement with AI is not as strong as in the private sector. This trend cannot be changed, but how we adapt and live with it is important, because when using AI, we also teach AI to develop."

He encouraged staff to improve their skills and access information, especially in the field of state-run tourism. He also cited the real-life example of Covid-19, when the tourism industry quickly replaced Indian tourists with Chinese tourists in a short time, and when there were no international tourists, it promoted domestic tourism.

Thanks to that, domestic tourism has grown a lot, parallel to international tourism. "In parallel with collecting information, we need to accumulate knowledge, which no AI can teach us," he emphasized.

At the end of the talk show, Dr. Le Truong Hien Hoa used the word "adapt" to emphasize that we need to be flexible and clear-headed in living and working with AI.

Meanwhile, Master Dao Trung Thanh used the word "companion", emphasizing that AI is not a strange or threatening tool but a friend, a partner that helps us move forward.

"When AI becomes our friend, we don't need to be afraid, but will develop together. Progress is not just about AI, but about how we use it.

Importantly, we should not consider AI as a slave tool or something inferior. The future of artificial intelligence will develop even more strongly, and our mission is to go with it, not stand on the opposite side," emphasized Master Dao Trung Thanh.
