Temporarily close Phong Chau pontoon bridge due to high and strong water flow of Red River

In recent days, prolonged heavy rain combined with water flowing from upstream has caused the water level of rivers in Phu Tho to rise.

At Phong Chau bridge area, due to the high level of the Red River, the strong flow does not ensure safety for people and vehicles passing through, the relevant functional forces responsible for protecting the safety of Phong Chau pontoon bridge (crossing the Red River connecting Tam Nong district with Lam Thao, Phu Tho province) had to temporarily suspend the operation of the pontoon bridge from 5:00 a.m. on May 25 until further notice.

Due to flood water from upstream, rising water level of the Red River, and high flow rate, Brigade 249 temporarily cut off the pontoon bridge from 5:00 a.m. on May 25 until further notice.

The current flow rate is very high, affecting the safety of the pontoon bridge.

Closing Phong Chau pontoon bridge is necessary to ensure safety until further notice.

Brigade 249 and functional forces temporarily closed the road, not allowing vehicles to go down the pontoon bridge.
