Tam Giang Commune (Nam Can District) was separated in late 2000. At that time, there was only about 3 km of concrete road in the commune center, and traffic to the remaining hamlets depended entirely on water transport. At that time, people's lives were still difficult, with poor households accounting for about 10%.
Nowadays, when returning to Tam Giang, it is easy to see the obvious changes from people's lives to the appearance of the countryside, no longer the image of the difficult coastal commune of the past.
