Newcomer Vinpearl "purple" debut session, billionaire Vuong's assets reach record

(Dan Tri) - Following the upturn in the world stock market, the VN-Index also increased beyond the 1,290 point mark. Notably, Vinpearl's VPL stock increased to the ceiling with more than 2 million units waiting to buy at the ceiling price.

Closing the session on May 13, VN-Index increased by 10.17 points, equivalent to 0.79%, to 1,293.26 points. VN30-Index increased by 10.74 points; HNX-Index increased by 1.89 points and UPCoM-Index increased by 0.96 points.

Notably, VPL stock of Vinpearl Joint Stock Company is the code that has the most positive impact on the general index. The stocks MWG, MBB, FPT , HPG, VPB, CTG... also have a positive impact on the market.

Of which, VPL shares have just been officially listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) with a reference price of VND71,300/share, corresponding to a charter capital of nearly VND18,000 billion.

Immediately after listing, Vinpearl's VPL shares hit the ceiling price of VND85,500/share. This increase was maintained until the end of the session with 4,800 units traded. Buyers had more than 2 million units waiting at the ceiling price but there were no sellers.

With nearly 1.8 billion shares in circulation, Vinpearl has a market capitalization of over VND153,000 billion. Currently, Vingroup Corporation (stock code: VIC) of billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong is the largest shareholder at Vinpearl and owns 1.5 billion VPL shares, equivalent to 85.5% of charter capital.

According to Forbes, as of the afternoon of May 13, billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's assets had reached 9.2 billion USD, ranking 320th in the list of the richest people in the world . This increase also helped billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong be among the top billionaires in Southeast Asia.

In contrast to the positive performance of VPL shares, the remaining stocks in the Vingroup "family" including VIC, VHM, VRE and VNB are all under profit-taking pressure.

Market liquidity remained high with matching value reaching over VND21,000 billion. Green dominated the board with 201 stocks increasing, 4 stocks hitting the ceiling, 61 stocks holding the reference price and 106 stocks decreasing.

Of which, SSB is the stock that has the most negative impact on VN-Index today. Following are stocks GEX, NVL, VHM, VPI, TPB...

Foreign investors also became a bright spot in today's trading session when they net bought nearly VND977 billion. In the afternoon, MBB shares were the most net bought in the whole market with a value of up to VND348 billion. Immediately following was MWG shares with a net buying value of VND315 billion. PNJ and CTG shares also recorded net buying of more than VND200 billion each.

On the other hand, VCB shares were net sold by foreign investors with a value of up to 262 billion VND. STB and GEX shares were also recorded as net sold for 151 billion and 123 billion VND respectively. Following that, SSI, HDB, MSN, HCM... shares were also net sold for tens of billions of VND.
