DTO - On the morning of April 17, at the Tan Hong District Culture, Sports and Broadcasting Center, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's Decision recognizing Tan Hong district as meeting new rural standards in 2024.

During the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, Tan Hong district has mobilized 4,590 billion VND to invest in completing the criteria, thereby changing the rural appearance significantly, improving the material and spiritual life of the people. Thereby, the district has achieved some remarkable results such as: 100% of district roads have been invested in construction or upgraded with approved road levels meeting technical standards according to regulations; the bridge and culvert systems have been solidly built, in accordance with the planned roads; 100% of the district's agricultural land area is actively irrigated; 99.95% of households use stable, regular and safe electricity in the district.

Authorized by the Prime Minister, Comrade Le Quoc Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Dong Thap province (left cover) presented the Decision recognizing Tan Hong district as meeting new rural standards in 2024.

In addition, the average income per capita in rural areas in 2024 will reach more than 62 million VND/person/year, an increase of more than 50 million VND/person/year compared to 2011; the multidimensional poverty rate in the whole district will decrease sharply to only 2.36%. At the same time, agriculture will shift in the right direction, changing the crop structure will bring positive results, many production models will bring high profits...

To continue to maintain the achieved results, Provincial Party Secretary Le Quoc Phong suggested that in the coming time, Tan Hong district needs to continue to do a good job of disseminating information about the qualitative and quantitative changes in criteria for building new rural areas. In addition, it is necessary to promote the transformation of the agricultural economic structure associated with building new rural areas, focusing on developing organic agriculture, circular agriculture, associated with processing and consumption of products; pay attention to environmental protection, improving the quality of life in rural areas; promote the development of OCOP products; promote digital transformation in building new rural areas to create conditions for people to access technology, develop e-commerce, digital government, digital society, etc.
