TPO - Agencies and organizations in Dak Nong have donated 10,000 macadamia seedlings and breeding cows to poor people in the border area.

On May 16, in Dak Nong, the launching ceremony of "Tree Planting Festival" took place to forever remember Uncle Ho, on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday.

At the ceremony, leaders of the Dak Nong Provincial Border Guard Command, the Red Cross Society, the Provincial Youth Union and the Tuy Duc District People's Committee presented 10,000 macadamia seedlings worth 250 million VND to 50 poor households in Quang Truc commune.

Forces participating in supporting planting seedlings for people

After the launching ceremony, officers, soldiers and people planted macadamia trees together, helping to improve income for people in border areas. Mr. Duong Huy Toan, Secretary of Tuy Duc District Party Committee, emphasized the economic value of macadamia trees in sustainable poverty reduction.

Macadamia seed donation program has practical significance for people in border areas

On the same day, 8 breeding cows worth 160 million VND were also handed over to 8 poor households in Dak Buk So commune. The households committed to taking good care of them to replicate this model. Tuy Duc Border Guard Station officers will support each household with breeding techniques.

Ms. Le Thi Theu, one of the households receiving cows, expressed her joy at receiving the support. She said this model is very practical for local women.

People are happy to be given a livelihood through the model of supporting cow reproduction.

Ms. H'Vi E Ban, Chairwoman of the Dak Nong Provincial Women's Union, affirmed that the unit always coordinates with the Border Guard Command and the Provincial Red Cross to implement the program "Accompanying Women in Border Areas". The program has created livelihoods, supported women in border areas to develop the economy and escape poverty.
