The Department directed functional departments and offices to inspect and review locations with potential traffic safety risks on the national highway and provincial road system through the province. Through the review, the province has 27 potential traffic safety risks on 8 national highways and 10 potential traffic safety risks on 7 provincial roads. The Ministry of Transport and the Provincial People's Committee have allowed the handling of 20/27 locations; currently, 5 locations on national highways and 10 potential locations on 7 provincial roads are being handled, expected to be completed in 2024.

For the remaining 2 locations on National Highway 32C, the Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Transport to continue to propose to the Vietnam Road Administration for consideration and resolution according to its authority. For provincial roads, the Provincial People's Committee allows the implementation of projects to repair and strengthen the road surface over 23km, combined with the correction and handling of potential traffic accident locations and unreasonable traffic organization on provincial roads.

Along with that, the Provincial People's Committee has assigned the responsibility to the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to manage, maintain and protect road traffic infrastructure for the district road system and urban roads in the management area. This is the legal basis for the District People's Committees to be proactive in the management and maintenance of the local road system. The Provincial People's Committee has directed the Department of Transport to issue documents guiding the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to implement legal regulations on the protection of road infrastructure and urge the District People's Committees to strengthen the management and maintenance of roads, review and handle shortcomings, black spots, potential traffic accident spots, and ensure traffic safety for the routes under their management.

Comrade Tran Hoai Giang - Director of the Department of Transport said: "Implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department regularly coordinates with the functional agencies of the Ministry of Transport and the Vietnam Road Administration to promptly advise the Ministry and the Department to arrange investment funds to repair and strengthen road surfaces, handle black spots and potential traffic safety points on national highways through the province's management area".
