Strengthening solutions to effectively implement policies and laws on social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance.

(CT) - On October 9, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Vice Chairwoman of Can Tho City People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of social insurance (SI) and health insurance (HI) policies of the city (referred to as the Steering Committee) chaired an online conference on the results of the implementation of SI, HI, and UI policies in the first 9 months of the year and the deployment of tasks for the last months of 2025.

In recent times, the Steering Committee has promptly advised the City Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee to include the target of social insurance and health insurance coverage rate in the local socio -economic development target. At the same time, it advised the City Party Committee and People's Committee to issue documents directing social insurance agencies at all levels to proactively and urgently advise Party committees and authorities to establish and perfect Steering Committees at all levels to implement the target of developing social insurance and health insurance in each hamlet and area; closely coordinate in implementing the collection and development of participants... In particular, it has established delegations to work with the Steering Committees at the commune level to grasp the implementation of social insurance and health insurance targets and the operation of the Steering Committees. Thereby, grasping and promptly removing difficulties and obstacles of localities, creating unity in organization and implementation. Information, propaganda and dissemination of policies and laws on social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance are of interest to Party committees, authorities and sectors in order to raise awareness of the law, create consensus, help organizations and people understand correctly about rights and obligations, and ensure sustainable social security...

As of September 30, 2025, the city had 378,004 people participating in social insurance; 2,941,447 people participating in health insurance and 282,737 people participating in unemployment insurance. To complete the assigned target in 2025, the city still has to exploit more social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, respectively 55,360 people; 55,360 people and 11,309 people... According to the assessment of the Steering Committee, the number of people participating in social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance increased compared to the same period, but the rate of people participating in social insurance, health insurance in some communes and wards is not sustainable. The situation of late payment of social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance still occurs in some enterprises...

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, praised the results achieved by the Steering Committee in the past time. To complete the targets for 2025, the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee suggested: In the coming time, the Steering Committee will continue to innovate propaganda forms in a suitable direction, promote administrative reform and apply information technology; strengthen solutions to effectively implement policies and laws on social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance; regularly inspect and supervise localities to do well in social insurance and health insurance work to replicate good models and practices and localities with low implementation rates to guide and coordinate. For the city's Social Insurance, it is necessary to proactively coordinate with departments, branches, sectors, socio- political organizations of the city and commune-level People's Committees to well manage participants and promptly implement the directives issued by the City Party Committee and People's Committee...
