On the upcoming New Year's Eve, Ho Chi Minh City will set off fireworks at 11 locations.
From 7:00 p.m. tomorrow (February 9) to 1:00 a.m. February 10, vehicles are prohibited from traveling on the following routes:
- Le Loi Street (section from Dong Khoi to Pasteur).
- Nguyen Hue Street (from Le Thanh Ton to Ton Duc Thang).
- Dong Khoi Street (section from Mac Thi Buoi to Ton Duc Thang).
- Ton Duc Thang Street (from Nguyen Sieu to Vo Van Kiet).
- Nguyen Tat Thanh Street (from Khanh Hoi Bridge to Hoang Dieu).
- Ham Nghi Street (section from Ho Tung Mau to Ton Duc Thang).
- Hai Trieu Street (section from Ho Tung Mau to Nguyen Hue).
- Nguyen Thiep Street (section from Dong Khoi to Nguyen Hue).
- Huynh Thuc Khang Street (section from Ho Tung Mau to Nguyen Hue).
- Ton That Thiep Street (section from Ho Tung Mau to Nguyen Hue).
- Ngo Duc Ke Street (section from Dong Khoi to Ho Tung Mau)
- Lam Son Square Road (from Hai Ba Trung to Dong Khoi).
- Dong Du Street (from Hai Ba Trung to Nguyen Hue).
- Mac Thi Buoi Street (from Hai Ba Trung to Nguyen Hue).
- The routes around Me Linh Square roundabout include: Ngo Duc Ke (to Ho Tung Mau street), Ho Huan Nghiep (to Dong Khoi street), Phan Van Dat (to Mac Thi Buoi street), Thi Sach (to Dong Du street).
- Ba Son Bridge, Khanh Hoi Bridge.
Area of vehicle prohibition
The alternative traffic route is as follows:
- Direction from Binh Thanh District to District 4 : Nguyen Huu Canh (Binh Thanh District) → Ton Duc Thang → Nguyen Du → Cach Mang Thang Tam → Nguyen Thi Nghia → Nguyen Thai Hoc → Ong Lanh Bridge → Hoang Dieu → Nguyen Tat Thanh (District 4).
- Direction from District 4 to Binh Thanh District: Nguyen Tat Thanh (District 4) → Hoang Dieu → Ong Lanh Bridge → Nguyen Thai Hoc → Nguyen Thi Nghia → Cach Mang Thang Tam → Nguyen Thi Minh Khai → Xo Viet Nghe Tinh (Binh Thanh District).
- Direction from Thu Duc City to District 5: Vo Nguyen Giap (Thu Duc City) → Dien Bien Phu → Dinh Tien Hoang → Vo Thi Sau → Ba Thang Hai → Le Hong Phong (District 5).
- Direction from District 5 to Thu Duc City : Le Hong Phong (District 5) → Dien Bien Phu → Vo Nguyen Giap (Thu Duc City).
Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport notes that drivers need to follow the instructions of traffic control forces, traffic police or the instructions of the traffic sign system on the road.
For personal and organizational vehicles in the affected area that need to travel during the restricted period, people can directly contact the Department of Culture and Sports for support and traffic facilitation.
If in previous years, Ho Chi Minh City only set off fireworks at 2 high-altitude locations and 4 low-altitude locations on New Year's Eve, this year's Lunar New Year, Ho Chi Minh City will set off fireworks at 11 locations, including 2 high-altitude locations and 9 low-altitude locations, spread across the inner city and suburbs.
Specifically, two high-altitude points are located at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel (Thu Duc City) and the Ben Duoc martyrs memorial area (Cu Chi District).
There are 9 low-range points including: Dam Sen Cultural Park (District 11), Traditional Revolutionary Area of the General Offensive and Uprising of Spring Mau Than 1968 (Binh Chanh District), Sac Forest Square (Can Gio District), Ben Noc Memorial Temple (Thu Duc City), Go Vap District Cultural Park, Nga Ba Giong Historical Site (Hoc Mon District), District 7 Administrative Center Square, Binh Tri Dong Residential Park (Binh Tan District), Cu Chi District Cultural House.
