Early in the morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake), the temperature in Hanoi was just over 10 degrees Celsius, a bitterly cold day. The historic Long Bien Bridge was unusually deserted, and the bustling early morning market below was gone.

Wandering through the old town, you'll find many streets deserted, creating a tranquil atmosphere.

In just one night, Hang Luoc flower market returned to its peaceful state after days of bustling activity as buyers and sellers prepared flowers for Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations.

Hanoi's streets were unusually deserted; the usual hustle and bustle gave way to the peacefulness of the first morning of the year.

The cold weather also makes people in the capital reluctant to go out in the early morning.

Streets adorned with national flags have become a familiar sight to Hanoi residents during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year).

A young woman, dressed in a flowing ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress), strolls through the streets of the capital city early on the first day of the Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake), carrying a peach blossom branch in her hand.

Au Trieu Street (Hoan Kiem District) stands out with thousands of Party flags and national flags hanging all along the street.

The vibrant red of the flags makes this an ideal spot for young people to come and take photos.

Many groups of people were jogging to celebrate the Lunar New Year around the old streets such as Hang Duong and Hang Ngang...

After the New Year's Eve celebrations, Ta Hien Street was left with only the silhouettes of sanitation workers cleaning up in the early morning.

People leisurely make their way to Ngoc Son Temple to offer prayers at the beginning of the year.

Many groups of people wearing brightly colored ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) took photos to capture the early spring moments by Hoan Kiem Lake.
