Deputy Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Thich Tri Tinh passed away.

According to Giac Ngo Online, Venerable Elder Thich Tri Tinh - Deputy Dharma Master of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Council, passed away on October 8 at Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh City.

After a period of illness due to old age, under the care of doctors and nurses, the elder monk passed away on October 8 (August 17th of the lunar calendar) at Vinh Nghiem Pagoda (HCMC), where he had been recuperating in recent years.

Elder monk Thich Tri Tinh became a monk at the age of 15 and was ordained by Patriarch Thich Thanh Khanh at Trung Hau pagoda ( Vinh Phuc , now part of Hanoi).

He is a contemporary elder of the Third Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha - the late Venerable Thich Pho Tue (1917-2021).

The 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (2017) honored him as Deputy Dharma Master of the Sangha Council, where he has held the position until now.

Venerable Elder Thich Tri Tinh founded Linh Phong Thien Uyen in Vung Tau city, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

In recent years, due to his old age, the main gate of Vinh Nghiem pagoda invited him to Vinh Nghiem pagoda to recuperate and receive medical care until his death.
