Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, where Vietnamese Buddhist scriptures are kept

Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, Bac Giang Province, is home to 3,050 woodblocks (wooden blocks) of Buddhist scriptures, a priceless cultural heritage of Vietnamese and world Buddhism. This set of woodblocks, carved in Chinese and Nom characters on fig tree wood, includes scriptures, the careers of eminent monks and folk remedies. In 2012, Vinh Nghiem Pagoda's woodblocks were recognized by UNESCO as a Documentary Heritage of the Asia-Pacific region.

Vinh Nghiem Pagoda is a cultural heritage, the pride of the people of Bac Ninh in particular and a famous "Great ancient temple" throughout the country in general. Vinh Nghiem Pagoda is a famous temple built in the middle of a beautiful natural landscape of Kinh Bac region. A famous temple in the world". It is also the place to preserve the Woodblocks, the only collection currently preserved of the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect. Woodblocks have a strong influence on the development of Vietnamese culture, society and history. The Woodblocks warehouse is still relatively intact and carefully preserved. Woodblocks were recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in the Asia- Pacific region in 2012. After more than 700 years of formation, Vinh Nghiem Pagoda is still preserved, becoming a sacred spiritual and cultural place in Bac Ninh.
