The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just decided to add 48 takeoffs and landings at Tan Son Nhat airport, adding about 10,000 seats to meet travel demand during Tet.
Specifically, the daytime hours (6am to 11:55pm) will be increased from 44 slots (number of takeoffs and landings) to 46 slots per hour; the nighttime hours will be increased from 40 slots to 42 slots per hour, applied from February 1 to February 21 (ie from December 22 to January 12). This is the second time Tan Son Nhat airport has increased flights to serve passenger demand.
According to the leader of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, the additional slots are reserved for routes with high booking rates and need to add more planes, such as routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Pleiku, Quy Nhon, Chu Lai, Buon Ma Thuot, Hue, Tuy Hoa, Thanh Hoa, Da Nang, Quang Binh , Hai Phong, and Vinh.
With this adjustment, domestic airlines will have 48 more slots per day from Tan Son Nhat, equivalent to about 10,000 seats to add to the above routes.
