Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Tan Bay suggested key points to consider during the working session with Hon Khoai Border Guard Station and other units on the island.

During the meeting, representatives from the Hon Khoai Border Guard Station Command provided a brief report on the coordination and implementation of key projects on the island; the results of task performance; and also highlighted difficulties and obstacles encountered during their work, proposing solutions to improve operational efficiency in the future.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Luom, Commander of Hon Khoai Border Guard Station, reported on the coordination of key projects and the unit's performance of its duties.

The Hon Khoai island cluster is located southeast of Ca Mau Cape, in Rach Tho hamlet, Dat Mui commune, and consists of 5 islands: Hon Khoai, Hon Sao, Hon Go, Hon Doi Moi, and Hon Da Le, with a total area of ​​approximately 526.5 hectares. The nearest point is about 7 nautical miles from the mainland (Khai Long estuary).

Currently, there are four military units stationed on the island: Hon Khoai Border Guard Post, Radar Station 595 (Naval Region 5 Command), Hon Khoai Island Cluster Forest Management Unit, and Hon Khoai Lighthouse Station. These forces regularly coordinate and cooperate, ready to handle any arising situations.
