According to initial statistics, the natural disaster affected 5 houses in Hamlet 9, Hamlet 14, and Hamlet 18. Of these, 1 house completely collapsed, and 4 houses had their roofs completely blown off.

Mr. Trinh Minh Quan, from Hamlet 14, said that at around 1:00 AM on May 29th, heavy rain accompanied by strong gusts of wind occurred in the area. The wind completely destroyed the back of his family's house and blew away the corrugated iron roof of the front part of the house. Because the situation unfolded so quickly, he and his wife did not have time to take shelter and suffered minor injuries.
Mr. Trinh Minh Quan, from Hamlet 14, recounted the moment his house was blown down by the wind, and he also suffered a chest injury.
Immediately after receiving the report, the leaders of U Minh commune People's Committee formed a delegation to visit and encourage the households whose houses were damaged. Initially, the local authorities are providing 2-3 million VND to each house that collapsed or had its roof blown off to help people overcome initial difficulties.

During his visits, Mr. Huynh Khanh Duy, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of U Minh commune, encouraged the households to try to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives as soon as possible. He also stated that the local authorities would continue to report the extent of the damage to higher levels to receive further support for the people.
The forces are assisting people in repairing their homes.
"In addition, the People's Committee of the commune also directed military forces and youth union members to assist people in cleaning up and repairing houses to help them quickly stabilize their lives after the natural disaster," Mr. Huynh Khanh Duy informed.
