
The conference was held in a combination of in-person and online formats to 11 locations across the force.
In recent times, with the highest determination, the Vietnam Coast Guard has closely coordinated with joint forces and local coastal authorities to synchronously, comprehensively, and resolutely deploy tasks and solutions to combat IUU fishing in order to promptly prevent and minimize the situation of Vietnamese fishing vessels violating foreign waters.

Thoroughly grasping and seriously implementing the direction of the Government, the Prime Minister, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense , and the Steering Committee for IUU fishing of the Ministry of National Defense on strengthening the fight against IUU fishing, the Vietnam Coast Guard continues to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the directives at all levels; strictly maintain the force of vehicles on duty, resolutely and flexibly deploy measures and plans for patrolling, inspecting and controlling in sea areas, focusing on overlapping sea areas, sea areas bordering Vietnam-Thailand-Malaysia-Indonesia, historical waters of Vietnam-Cambodia; strictly inspect fishing vessels that lose connection to the signal of the voyage monitoring device (VMS), vessels that remove and receive the voyage monitoring device VMS, fishing vessels that cross the border to operate in foreign waters.

Collect documents, develop professional plans, special projects to fight, arrest, and handle subjects, lines for removing and keeping VMS monitoring equipment, organize sending fishing vessels and fishermen to foreign waters to illegally exploit seafood. Promote propaganda against IUU fishing with new, creative, and effective forms and contents of propaganda suitable to the actual conditions of the unit.

At the Conference, delegates focused on discussing and proposing measures to effectively implement the peak period against IUU fishing.

Concluding the Conference, Major General Vu Trung Kien, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard Law, requested agencies and units to seriously grasp the instructions of all levels, organize the development of plans to continue implementing the peak period, and be determined to prevent and end the situation of fishing vessels violating IUU fishing before November 15, 2025.
Assign specific tasks, clearly define the responsibilities of each group and individual assigned to be in charge, and be responsible for the results of the implementation of their unit's peak period. Regularly inspect and urge ships to perform tasks at sea, promptly propagate, detect, prevent and handle high-risk ships. Coordinate with coordinated forces to propagate and mobilize fishermen to raise awareness and strictly comply with legal regulations on combating IUU fishing.
