With new potentials , advantages, opportunities and fortunes in the current integration context, the merger of Binh Phuoc province with Dong Nai province will create new positions and strengths in building and developing the socio -economy; changing the production structure, industry structure; organizing architectural construction space; attracting investment resources .
Expanding industrial development space
Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc are two adjacent localities that can complement each other in industrial development. These are also two localities that have been accelerating the development of industrial parks in the area in recent times.
Specifically, Dong Nai has established 37 industrial parks, the most in the country. According to the Provincial Planning, by 2030 , Dong Nai will have 48 industrial parks. Investment capital in industrial parks is a major resource to help Dong Nai stand among the top localities in economic development in the country. Currently, industrial parks in Dong Nai have attracted more than 36 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI) and more than 475 trillion VND in domestic investment capital.
According to the Binh Phuoc Economic Zone Management Board, the province now has 15 industrial parks with an area of 6,000 hectares, of which 13 have been put into operation, reaching an occupancy rate of about 69%. FDI attraction is a bright spot in the province's socio-economic picture in recent years. According to the plan, by 2030 , the total land area of Binh Phuoc's industrial parks will be 18,000 hectares, ready to meet the needs of domestic investors and FDI enterprises.
Experts and authorities assess that after the merger of Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai, infrastructure planning and investment can be carried out in a more systematic and synchronous manner . Important transportation projects such as highways and airports will be implemented quickly, helping to connect the region more strongly , facilitating the flow of goods, promoting trade and export.
Dong Nai has more conditions to relocate industrial parks and clusters away from urban areas to focus on developing trade and services. On the contrary, Binh Phuoc has more opportunities to attract investment and develop industry with the advantage of large land area; synchronous and modern industrial infrastructure investment; convenient transportation. This will be a good condition to attract investment capital , expanding development space to highly competitive industries and fields.
According to Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung, in the future, the development space for economic sectors and industrial park development in Dong Nai province will be expanded. In order to move towards synchronous and harmonious development, relevant departments and sectors need to proactively research and propose solutions to allocate resources and development space appropriately, with linkages and mutual support in the industrial development planning of the new province.
Overcoming challenges to develop in the new stage
Besides the new opportunities and opportunities, opening up a large space for development also poses many challenges. Therefore, in addition to preparing the corresponding necessary conditions, it is necessary to pay more attention to industrial development policies, comprehensively evaluate the attraction and exploitation of investment resources for the development of industrial parks. The new Dong Nai will have many potentials and advantages to attract investment in developing green and circular industry.

Accordingly, it is necessary to soon develop a master plan for socio-economic development, as a foundation for all management and operation activities. The plan must integrate the strengths and overcome the current shortcomings of both provinces. In particular, it is necessary to identify key economic sectors with the potential to create high added value; plan transport infrastructure, energy, telecommunications, urban and rural areas in a modern, connected and sustainable direction.
In particular, it is necessary to calculate the synchronous industrial - logistics - urban ecosystem to promote the advantages of Long Thanh International Airport, the economic development axis along Highway 13, the two expressways Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh and Chon Thanh - Gia Nghia. Currently, the top priority is the traffic connection Dong Nai - Binh Phuoc. This is an important route in intra-provincial traffic and regional connection, the shortest route, most beneficial for people's travel .
According to Nguyen Tri Phuong, Head of Dong Nai Industrial Park Management Board, implementing the province's general policy, the board continues to implement the policy of attracting projects with large investment capital, using advanced technology. When some industrial parks are being built to complete infrastructure and newly established industrial parks are under construction, the land fund for investors will increase significantly. That will continue to be the driving force for Dong Nai to increase its attractiveness to investors , develop industry and industrial parks in a green, circular direction to expand the export of goods.
