3 iPhone models have just been discontinued in Vietnam

(Dan Tri) - In recent months, Apple has continuously stopped selling some of its older product lines in the Vietnamese market. These devices include the iPhone 11, iPhone 12 and iPhone 14 Plus.

In fact, Apple discontinued the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 duo a few years ago. However, the company continues to maintain business operations for these two devices in some markets, including Vietnam.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 Plus was quietly discontinued by Apple in February, after the company introduced the iPhone 16e model. To date, all three products have disappeared from genuine store shelves in the Vietnamese market.

This can be seen as a move to clean up Apple's old product lines in the Vietnamese market. This also contributes to tidying up the company's product range, helping users make easier choices when they need to buy devices.

"When iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 officially stop selling, iPhone 13 becomes the most accessible choice for customers looking for a device in the popular, near-high-end segment," shared a representative of Minh Tuan Mobile system.

After the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 were out of stock, the iPhone 13 became the lowest priced genuine iPhone that Apple is still selling in the Vietnamese market.

Currently, the iPhone 13 is being offered by dealers at a price of 11.3 million VND for the 128GB version. Sales of this product line have also grown significantly after the recent price adjustment.

Before disappearing from official shelves, the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 duo received a lot of attention from users thanks to their accessible prices. Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 Plus is not popular in Vietnam. Sales of this model only account for a small part of the total sales of the iPhone industry.

"We have proactively stopped selling the iPhone 14 Plus to optimize our product portfolio and better suit consumer trends. In fact, the purchasing power of the iPhone Plus lines in the Vietnamese market is not as high as expected," said Ms. Van Thi Ngoc Yen, Apple product line director at Di Dong Viet system.

In the near future, iPhone 15 Plus will become the main product line, replacing the position of iPhone 14 Plus. Currently, iPhone 15 Plus 128GB version is offered for sale at a price of 19 million VND.

For years, Apple has maintained a strategy of extending the life of older products while reducing prices to attract new users. To this day, older iPhones still contribute a significant portion of Apple's sales.

"Since March, sales of older iPhone models (except for the iPhone 16 generation) have increased by 70% after price adjustments. Compared to the same period last year, the recorded growth rate reached 80%," said Mr. Nguyen Lac Huy, communications representative of the CellphoneS system.
