The Thai ethnic writing has been passed down through generations in Doan Ket village (Phong Tho commune).

We visited the communes of Khong Lao and Phong Tho nearly 4 months after the Then Kin Pang Festival organized by the Provincial People's Committee in Khong Lao commune. Through talking with the people, we realized that the echoes of the festival were still intact and not only that, the people here had more motivation to maintain the activities of art troupes, make traditional musical instruments to serve family needs, community activities and also sell to the market. Along with that, the traditional culture from stilt houses, daily life, cuisine , and production of the Thai people are still preserved.
Ms. Dieu Thi Nhuan (member of the Doan Ket village art troupe, Phong Tho commune) said: It is an honor for me and the members of the art troupe to participate in art performances at festivals organized by the commune and the province. Through that, we not only preserve the cultural beauty of the nation but also introduce and promote it to people inside and outside the province. After the festival, the village art troupe still maintains regular practice; exploits and choreographs more singing and dancing performances to prepare for next year's event and exchanges with other villages in the commune; and shares songs and dances. Along with that, the village invites the commune's folk artists to teach Then singing, playing Tinh Tau lute; making musical instruments, weaving and sewing traditional costumes, teaching weaving, blacksmithing, etc. to the people.
Lai Chau province has 20 ethnic groups living together, each with its own culture, creating a colorful picture. To preserve and develop the good culture of the ethnic groups, localities focus on organizing cultural and sports festivals of ethnic groups, traditional festivals. The Provincial People's Committee assigned specialized agencies to coordinate with communes and wards to promote propaganda, mobilize people to promote their role as subjects to participate in art troupes, maintain traditional occupations; push back bad customs; encourage and motivate the younger generation to cherish their ethnic cultural traditions. Implement and integrate policies of the State and the province to support art troupes, artisans, and delegations to participate in cultural exchange and promotion activities. At the same time, organize classes to teach singing, dancing, writing, and traditional occupations in the villages. For educational institutions, encourage cadres, teachers, and students who are ethnic people to wear traditional costumes 1-2 days/week; build cultural spaces on school campuses; Organize a contest to learn about traditional cultures of ethnic groups in the area. In addition, combine the development of modern sports with ethnic sports to discover new factors to nurture and train to participate in higher tournaments.
Mr. Cu A Chu in Lao Chai 1 village (Khun Ha commune) said: As a community tourism village, on holidays, New Year, and festivals, the village's art troupe participates in many performances of various genres; building a Mong ethnic cultural space according to the requirements of the organizing committee. In daily life, traditional culture is maintained by the people, from wearing costumes to making and using production and living utensils. In the village, there is a playground for playing tu lu, shooting crossbows, and walking on stilts; the young generation actively learns traditional crafts, plays the flute, and sings and dances. Thanks to that, the village not only preserves its cultural identity but also contributes to the development of community tourism .
Promoting the spreading power from preserving and organizing traditional festivals, in the province, many localities develop community tourism associated with preserving cultural identity such as: Sin Suoi Ho village (Sin Suoi Ho commune); Tham village, Lao Chai 1 (Khun Ha commune); Can Ty 2 village (Hong Thu commune); Na Khuong village (Ban Bo commune)... Young people promote creativity, diversify forms of tourism; coordinate to establish points to introduce local specialties and promote on social networking platforms. People focus on building a clean living environment, raising livestock, changing the structure of crops and livestock, and increasing income.
Comrade Tran Manh Hung - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized: Organizing traditional festivals shows the province's interest in preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups, creating unity and solidarity in the community. In the coming time, the department will continue to advise the Provincial People's Committee to deploy many solutions to preserve intangible cultural heritage, including restoring and organizing traditional festivals, maintaining the activities of village art troupes, promptly praising artisans and people who have made many contributions to preserving traditional culture. At the same time, building cultural spaces of ethnic groups at important events of the locality, province and schools, thereby helping people, especially the younger generation, to appreciate their traditional culture.
