Create jobs and capital, improve farmers' lives

Over the past years, the Farmers' Association of Phu Vang district has identified that the entrusted management of policy credit capital is an important content throughout the Association's annual operation plan. Commune-level Farmers' Associations across the district have signed entrustment contracts, completing the goal of "No communes without clear management of policy credit managed by the Farmers' Association".

From the social policy credit capital, farmer members have organized production, increased income, a large number of poor and near-poor households after escaping poverty and near-poverty have been promptly supported with new capital for production, business, job creation, increased income and strived to enrich their homeland.

According to Mr. Mai Xuan Hoa - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Phu Vang district, currently, the Farmers' Association is managing 63 savings and loan groups with 2,457 households with outstanding loans, 24,870 members have participated in loans, the total outstanding loans managed by the Association reached 88.7 billion VND, an increase of 23.9 billion VND compared to the beginning of the term...

“The rural landscape is increasingly changing, restoring and developing local traditional craft villages, the rate of poor and near-poor households has decreased significantly every year. At the same time, this credit source has contributed to building a stable, fair and developed society, building the great national unity bloc, strengthening people's trust in the Party and the State, narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor, between urban and rural areas”. – Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Phu Vang district shared.

Mr. Dao Ba Thuan - Director of the Transaction Office of the Social Policy Bank of Phu Vang district said that in the period of 2018 - 2023, the social policy credit capital entrusted through the District Farmers' Association has helped 3,700 poor households, near-poor households and households escaping poverty to borrow capital; creating jobs for 6,454 workers.

In addition, it also helped 32 students in difficult circumstances to get loans to study and 13 students to buy computers and equipment for studying; supported the construction of 3,878 clean water and rural environmental sanitation works; 45 poor households received loans to build houses according to Decision 33/2015/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister ; 17 households built new houses to live in... Thereby, it has contributed to the locality to reduce the rate of poor households to 3.25%, near-poor households to 4.9% (by the end of 2022) according to the new criteria.

Mr. Dao Ba Thuan added that many good economic business models of farmer members have been formed, such as: Freshwater fish cage farming model with loans from the program for households to produce and do business in difficult areas and create jobs; Straw mushroom growing model with loans from the program for creating jobs; Watermelon growing model with loans from the program for households to produce and do business in difficult areas...
