Training on practical skills in traffic accident first aid

On August 14, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health) coordinated with the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health to organize a training course on practical skills in traffic accident emergency response for nearly 100 trainees who are doctors and nurses working at Khanh Hoa General Hospital, 115 Emergency Center, medical centers, health stations, private medical facilities and traffic police officers of the province.

Deputy Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management Vuong Anh Duong spoke at the training class.

At the training course, trainees were trained in 10 important topics, including: Mechanism of injury due to traffic accidents; safety warnings and protection of the scene for caregivers and victims; basic principles of first aid at the scene; first aid for head - face - neck - spine injuries; handling mass accidents; first aid for abdominal injuries; safe transportation of victims; emergency treatment for fractures, dislocations, sprains; basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation...

Students are updated with knowledge of first aid.

Along with updating theory, students also practice on models of safe victim transportation; cases of head, neck, spine injuries... The training course aims to improve the capacity of first aid and basic resuscitation for traffic accident victims; at the same time, equipping necessary skills for medical staff and traffic police forces in the province.
