On the afternoon of August 16, a car traveling on Nguyen Chi Thanh Street (near De La Thanh intersection, Lang Ward, Hanoi ) suddenly fell into a "death hole" that appeared in the middle of the road, making it impossible for the car to move.

At the scene, the sinkhole was about 1 meter in diameter, about 50 centimeters deep, and contained a lot of water inside.

Immediately upon receiving the news, the Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board (Hanoi Department of Construction) sent forces to handle the situation and coordinated with Hanoi Clean Water Company to clarify the cause.

The area where the incident occurred was also fenced off and posted with warning signs to ensure the safety of passersby.

Authorities erected a warning fence around the "death pit" area.

The Maintenance Board representative said that after assessing the cause, relevant units will promptly fix it to ensure smooth traffic on this central route.
