The Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention has worked with the Department of Agriculture and Environment.
From July 25 to the morning of July 27, in Son La province, heavy rains led to flash floods and landslides, causing great damage to people and property of the people and the State. Natural disasters killed 5 people, 1 person went missing; 143 houses were damaged; 2 national highways, 2 provincial roads and other provincial roads had many landslides causing traffic jams; 7 suspension bridges were swept away by floods; 32 irrigation works were damaged; more than 130 hectares of rice, fruit trees, vegetables and more than 2,650 livestock and poultry were damaged...
Immediately after the flash flood occurred, the Provincial People's Committee directed the communes to implement the "4 on-site" motto; organized working groups led by the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, together with departments, branches and sectors, to go to the scene to directly command and direct the search and rescue work and overcome the consequences. Localities focused on visiting and implementing support policies for families with victims; repairing damaged houses; handling traffic jams; cleaning up the environment; stabilizing people's lives and production.
At the meeting, representatives of the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention acknowledged the efforts of the locality in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. In the face of complicated weather developments, the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention requested that localities coordinate closely, proactively develop response plans, review vulnerable areas, and not let people stay in high-risk areas.
On this occasion, the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention presented 1,000 boxes of instant noodles sponsored by ACECOOK Vietnam Joint Stock Company to people in disaster-affected areas.
