Hai Phong Railway Transport Branch said that since its official launch on May 10, the Hoa Phuong Do train running on the Hanoi - Hai Phong route has quickly attracted a large number of passengers, contributing to growth in both output and revenue.
Revenue of nearly 9 billion VND after 21 days
In just 21 days (from May 10 to May 31, 2025), the train made 176 trips, transported nearly 90,000 passengers, and earned nearly 9 billion VND in revenue.
Compared to the same period in 2024 - when there was no Hoa Phuong Do train but only fast passenger trains - the number of passengers increased by 8%, while revenue increased sharply by 46%.
In total, on the entire Hanoi - Hai Phong route in May 2025, there were 263 train trips, transporting more than 142,000 passengers, with revenue exceeding 14 billion VND, up 17% and 52% respectively over the same period last year.
This is the first time the railway has put into operation a 34-seat VIP car with an interior designed in Indochinese style, combining modern lines and traditional Asian colors.

Special ticket class (34-seat VIP car) has a ticket price of 250,000 VND/ticket for the beginning of the week, and a ticket price of 300,000 VND/ticket for the weekend on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Currently, the "Hoa Phuong Do" train has 3 ticket price classes: Special ticket class (VIP 34-seat car) has a ticket price of 250,000 VND/ticket for the beginning of the week, and a ticket price of 300,000 VND/ticket for the weekend on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
With VIP tickets, passengers will be served free drinks of their choice such as: fruit juice, chrysanthemum tea, coffee, mineral water... throughout the journey.
First class tickets (56-seat carriage with reversing function) cost 150,000 VND/ticket for the beginning of the week, 180,000 VND/ticket for the weekend; passengers are served a bottle of water. In addition, there is also an economy class ticket for the 64-seat carriage with a price of 105,000 VND/ticket for the beginning of the week, 130,000 VND/ticket for the weekend.
Hai Phong Station was built in 1902 and is one of the oldest and most historically valuable stations in the railway industry. On October 21, 1946, the train departing from the station brought President Ho Chi Minh back to Hanoi after attending the Fontainebleau conference in France.
With its ancient French architecture, Hai Phong station is not only a transportation hub but also a work with historical, cultural and artistic values associated with the formation and development of the Port City. Passengers arriving at the station have many photo spots to check-in.
