Japan Coast Guard minesweeper visits Da Nang

The delegation was led by Colonel Ikubo Seiji, Commander of Minesweeper Unit 13. This friendly visit to Da Nang City will last until December 15.
The welcoming ceremony still took place solemnly at Tien Sa Port with the participation of representatives of the Naval Region 3 Command, the Department of Foreign Affairs ( Ministry of National Defense ), the Office of the Military Region 5 Command, the Da Nang City Border Guard Command, the Da Nang City Military Command and the Da Nang City Department of Foreign Affairs.

On the Japanese side, there was also Lieutenant Colonel Yoshida Seiji, Deputy Defense Attaché of Japan in Vietnam.

During the friendly visit to Da Nang, the group of ship commanders will pay courtesy visits to the leaders of Da Nang City People's Committee, Military Region 5 Command, and Naval Region 3 Command. In addition, the delegation will also visit Brigade 161 (Naval Region 3) and visit a number of historical and cultural relics in Da Nang.
In particular, the Japanese fleet will coordinate with the two countries' Defense Ministries to organize the first professional exchange activity in the field of underwater mine clearance.

This visit is part of a joint training program with navies of countries in the Indian Ocean region, part of the "Free and Open Indo- Pacific " strategy.
This is a strategy aimed at maintaining the fundamental principles of the international order: the rule of law and freedom of navigation.
