Today (April 14), the BRP Gabriela Silang ship with 84 sailors, captained by Colonel Eleizer Gonzales Ibarientos, docked at Tien Sa port, beginning a courtesy visit to Da Nang City from April 14-17.
This is the first time a Philippine Coast Guard ship has visited Vietnam.

In parallel with the ship's activities, a high-level delegation led by Rear Admiral Joeven L Fabul - Deputy Commander of the Philippine Coast Guard - along with representatives of the Embassy and the Office of the Philippine Defense Attaché in Vietnam also attended activities within the framework of the visit.

During their stay in the city, the commanding officers and sailors will pay courtesy visits to the leaders of the Da Nang People's Committee and the Coast Guard Region 2 Command; visit and participate in sports exchanges at the Coast Guard Region 2 Command; and conduct joint search and rescue, fire prevention and fighting exercises with the Vietnam Coast Guard ship.

The visit to Vietnam of the BRP Gabriela Silang is a practical activity to implement the Memorandum of Understanding on maritime cooperation between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Philippine Coast Guard signed in January 2024; contributing to strengthening the friendship, cooperation, understanding and mutual trust between the two sides in the coming time.
