SM Green Taxi opens service in Ho Chi Minh City, starting operation from April 30, 2023

On April 27, 2020, GSM Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (Green - Smart - Mobility) officially launched the SM Green Taxi Service in Ho Chi Minh City, with the scale of phase 1 being 500 GreenCar vehicles and 100 LuxuryCar vehicles.

Mr. Hoang Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thu Duc City, delivered a speech welcoming SM Green Taxi to officially launch its service in Ho Chi Minh City.

SM Green Taxi will officially operate in Ho Chi Minh City from April 30, 2023, after more than two weeks of launching in Hanoi .

Customers can choose from two services: GreenCar - a standard taxi consisting of 500 VF e34 cars painted in the signature Cyan blue color; or LuxuryCar - a high-class taxi consisting of 100 VF 8 cars with luxurious original paint color.

In the near future, Green SM Taxi will add the VinFast VF 5 Plus model to the GreenCar fleet, and based on actual customer demand, increase the number of vehicles serving both service segments.

The opening price for the first kilometer of the GreenCar service is 20,000 VND. For the next 24km, the fare for the VF 5 Plus is 15,000 VND/km, for the VF e34 is 16,000 VND/km. From the 26th kilometer onwards, the fare is 14,000 VND/km for the VF 5 Plus and 14,500 VND/km for the VF e34. The price for the LuxuryCar service is fixed at 21,000 VND/km for the entire journey.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, General Director of GSM Company, introduced the SM Green Taxi service which will officially launch in Ho Chi Minh City from April 30, 2023.

Customers in Ho Chi Minh City can easily book a Green SM taxi via the national hotline 19002088 like a traditional taxi, or via the Green SM Taxi application on the App Store and Google Play like other technology taxi companies. Customers can also hail a taxi directly at all Vincom Shopping Centers, public places in the city or directly hail a taxi on the street.

In addition, in May 2023, customers can call SM Green Taxi through the BeVinFast service on the multi-service consumer platform Be.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of SM Green Taxi in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Hoang Tung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Thu Duc City People's Committee, shared: “Electric taxis coming into operation in Ho Chi Minh City will bring the city's people a new, environmentally friendly transportation option and apply many advanced technologies. Not only changing the face of public transport, electric taxis also contribute to the city's tourism development, at the same time, aiming for the goal of net zero emissions by 2050 according to Vietnam's commitment at COP26. Thu Duc City will accompany GSM in researching the planning, investment and development of public transport, especially green and smart transport in Thu Duc City in particular and Ho Chi Minh City in general".
