The appeal of teqball has been noticed by fans since football stars like Messi and Neymar are passionate about it, even bringing the teqball table home for entertainment after training and competition hours.
Mr. Nguyen Nam Nhan, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, shared: "Teqball was born in Hungary in 2014, a sport that combines football, table tennis, and sepak takraw. The appeal of this sport comes from the competitive competition, promoting the qualities of dexterity, agility and also high entertainment. Thanks to that, teqball was quickly accepted and spread globally, currently present in 150 countries and territories with 122 national federations established... This sport will also be organized at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand in 2025, and has the potential to become a sport at the ASIAD and Olympics".

Teqball is also suitable for the Vietnamese people, so the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City is currently providing training equipment for 22 districts and Thu Duc City to promote the movement. Ho Chi Minh City is also proactively taking the lead by joining hands with the International Teqball Federation to host the world teqball championship taking place from December 4 to 8 at Nguyen Hue Walking Street. "Ho Chi Minh City hosting the world-class teqball tournament is an opportunity to introduce and spread teqball to the public, encouraging more people to participate and love this sport," said Mr. Nhan.
Playing at home, the Vietnamese teqball team is participating in the world tournament for the first time, so they aim to compete to the best of their ability. "We were given the opportunity to train in Hungary 2 months before the tournament to improve our techniques. Against the world's top opponents, my team and I will try our best and not focus too much on performance targets," said player Do Bao Huy.
At the 2024 teqball world championship, athletes compete in 5 events: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.
