Bringing OCOP products to Keo Pagoda festival
Every year, at the special national relic Keo Pagoda (Duy Nhat commune, Vu Thu district, Thai Binh province), two festivals take place. They are the Spring festival (January 4 of the lunar calendar) and the Autumn festival (September of the lunar calendar).
However, the Autumn Festival is the main festival of the year because it is organized on a larger scale and lasts for many days.

Informing reporters of Cong Thuong Newspaper, Ms. Pham Thi Nhu Phong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Vu Thu district (Thai Binh province) said that the Keo Pagoda Autumn Festival 2023 will be held for 6 days, starting on the evening of October 24 at the Keo Pagoda National Special Monument complex.
“This year, the district is determined to raise the scale and value of the Keo Pagoda Autumn Festival to match the position and role of a special national relic. The new point of this festival is that the opening ceremony taking place on the evening of October 24 will be broadcast live on Thai Binh Provincial Television and is expected to be rebroadcast by 35 Radio and Television Stations of provinces and cities. In addition, for the first time at the Keo Pagoda Festival, we decided to combine organizing a fair to display, introduce, exchange, and promote OCOP products and invite districts and cities in the province as well as some units of other provinces to participate,” said Ms. Phong.

According to Mr. Cao Vu Thach, Head of the Economic Infrastructure Department of Vu Thu district, the fair to promote OCOP products within the framework of Keo Pagoda festival aims to create connections between trade promotion activities, investment promotion, promotion, introduction of potential, strengths, economic, cultural, social and tourism achievements of Vu Thu district, between districts in the province and neighboring provinces.
“ In previous festivals, there was only one booth displaying and introducing OCOP products of Vu Thu district. This year, the district decided to combine the festival and fair and invite other districts, cities and some units and localities of other provinces. Up to now, the preparations for the festival and fair are being urgently implemented by the members of the organizing subcommittee, hoping to bring success and difference, contributing to raising the scale and value of the Keo Pagoda Autumn Festival,” said Mr. Thach.

During the 6 days of the festival, there are also 6 days of buying and selling activities, promoting typical and unique products from the localities participating in the fair.
Accordingly, at the Keo Pagoda Relic Management Board yard, the organizing committee plans to display and arrange 23 booths for participating units to display, introduce and promote products.
“ We will organize 23 booths to display and introduce OCOP products of Vu Thu district (3 booths); 7 districts and cities in Thai Binh province and Vo Nhai district, Thai Nguyen province (2 booths each). In addition, there are 3 OCOP product booths for other provinces and 1 booth of Keo Pagoda Relic Management Board” , Mr. Thach added.
Rushing preparations for the Festival
Regarding the opening night of the Keo Pagoda Festival in Autumn 2023, according to the organizers, the highlight will be the art program with the theme "Sacred Land of Buddha" with an epic melody lasting about 90 minutes taking place at 8:00 p.m. on October 24.
With a structure of 3 chapters: "Legend of Keo Pagoda", "Returning to the Heritage Land", "Endless Beauty", the program was scripted by cultural researchers Nguyen Thanh and Bui Gia Huan; and was advised by historian Le Van Lan.

The program has the participation of about 300 professional and amateur artists, singers, actors from art troupes inside and outside the province such as: Vietnam Music and Dance Theater, Hanoi Cheo Theater, Army Music and Dance Theater, Thai Binh Cheo Theater... with singers People's Artist Thu Hien, People's Artist Trong Tan...

Throughout the program, there is a harmonious combination of typical songs about Thai Binh composed over time with the synthesis of artistic techniques such as commentary, scenes, sound, light, etc.
At this time, the local authorities are urgently preparing for the Keo Pagoda Festival in the fall. Vu Thu District has established a steering committee, a festival organizing committee and 8 sub-committees. The restoration and embellishment work at the Keo Pagoda National Special Monument has also been basically completed, creating a green - clean - beautiful landscape, ready to welcome visitors from all over the world.
