The semi-final round of the 2025 AFF Women's Cup will be opened by the match between the Myanmar women's team and the Thailand women's team. The Thai women's team is in the testing phase, bringing to Vietnam a very young squad, with only 1 player born in 1995, the rest born after 2000. They played well, deserving of second place in Group A, but because they are still young, they also showed immaturity in their playing style. Meanwhile, the Myanmar women's team showed that they are worthy candidates for the championship when they defeated Australia and drew with the Philippines to convincingly win first place in Group B.

Before the match, the head coach of the Thai women's team - Futoshi Ikeda said: "I am very happy that Thailand is in the semi-finals of the 2025 AFF Women's Cup, the players have done everything they can. We are very excited before entering the next match. The Thai players are gradually getting better and the coaching staff will continue to help them have the best preparation for the match against Myanmar".

Coach Uki Tetsuro (Myanmar women's team) shared: "Since the beginning of the tournament, we have encountered many difficulties, but the players have always shown the highest fighting spirit and efforts, so we have reached the semi-finals. For the match against Thailand, we only have 2 days to recover. Therefore, we are focusing on the players' recovery, then preparing the best for this important match."

In previous encounters, the girls from the land of the golden pagodas have had an outstanding record. The two teams have met 27 times, with the Thai women's team winning 17 matches and losing only 4. However, things could be very different this time around.
