Being a coastal district with many rivers, streams, ponds and lagoons for aquaculture, Thai Thuy district, despite many efforts in propaganda andeducation on drowning prevention, has still had 4 tragic drowning accidents since the beginning of the year in the whole district in the communes of Thuan Thanh, Thuy Quynh, Son Ha and Diem Dien town, killing 5 children.

Children are trained in swimming skills at swimming facilities.

Focusing on pushing back this situation, along with promoting propaganda about the causes and risks of drowning accidents, Thai Thuy district mobilizes the participation of all levels, sectors and the entire population in managing, caring for and protecting children. Post warning signs in dangerous areas, deep and fast-flowing water areas, and areas with unsafe swimming conditions. Encourage organizations and individuals to build and organize safe playgrounds for children; increase the dissemination of knowledge and skills on drowning prevention and control, create useful and healthy playgrounds, and stay away from social evils.
