This morning, January 11th, a delegation from the 3rd Naval Region and representatives from localities, agencies, organizations, businesses, and individuals, led by Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh, Deputy Political Commissar of the 3rd Naval Region, continued their voyage to Ly Son Island ( Quang Ngai province) to visit, present gifts, and extend New Year greetings to the military, civilians, officers, and soldiers of Radar Station 550 and other agencies, units, and forces performing duties on the island.

During the visit, the Command of Naval Region 3 and representatives from local authorities, agencies, organizations, businesses, and individuals presented practical and meaningful gifts and extended warm New Year wishes, reflecting the close bond between the military and the people, to the officers and soldiers of Radar Station 550, the forces on duty, and the people of Ly Son island district.

Speaking at the program, Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh informed that Radar Station 550 performs its duties under conditions where the sea area under its responsibility is complex, especially with foreign fishing vessels frequently intruding into Vietnam's territorial waters.

However, the officers and soldiers of the station, together with the military and people on the island district, have united and strived to overcome difficulties and challenges, successfully completing their tasks; building a "people's defense posture," creating a solid foundation for building a strong national defense and people's security system at sea, contributing to the management and protection of maritime sovereignty ; and making our country a rich and strong maritime nation.

Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh commended and acknowledged the efforts, contributions, and achievements of the officers and soldiers of Radar Station 550 in the past period. In the joyful atmosphere of the early days of the new year and in preparation for the Lunar New Year 2025, Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh wished the military and people of Ly Son island district continued success. He also expressed his hope that Radar Station 550, together with the military and people of Ly Son island district, would continue to uphold the spirit of unity, diligently work in production, and build the island district to develop more rapidly, sustainably, and effectively in all fields. From there, Ly Son will quickly become a center of economic and tourism development, a key area in the national strategy for the development of the sea and islands; making a positive and effective contribution to the cause of building and protecting the sovereignty of the Fatherland's sea and islands.

At the event, artists from the Vietnam Youth Theatre, delegates, and officers and soldiers exchanged performances of music and short plays; participated in making banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) and picking flowers for democracy, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere of the Lunar New Year.

Earlier that morning, the delegation visited the Ly Son District Martyrs' Cemetery, the Hoang Sa Heroic Soldiers Monument, and participated in the flag-raising ceremony at the National Flagpole on Ly Son Island.
