Visit and give gifts to outstanding artists

On the afternoon of July 16, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Dinh Thi Thanh Thuy, representing the leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, together with Vice President of the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Ho Chi Minh City, President of the City Cinema Association Duong Cam Thuy, representatives of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, and specialized art associations, visited and presented gifts to author Duong Linh, musician Nguyen Van Sanh and People's Artist Ho Van Thanh.

This meaningful visit was carried out to acknowledge and pay tribute to the contributions of artists in general and artists who participated in the revolution, artists who won the State Prize, Ho Chi Minh Prize , People's Artist, Meritorious Artist, who have worked and contributed to the development of literature and art in the city over the past 50 years.

At the artists' homes, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Dinh Thi Thanh Thuy visited and listened to the artists' sharing, thoughts, feelings, hopes and aspirations for their profession, for life, for the cultural and artistic field of Ho Chi Minh City, their feelings about their career, their valuable contributions to the city's and the country's culture and arts during the past decades of persistent, steadfast, and devoted attachment to their profession.

Author Duong Linh's real name is Nguyen Kim Phuong, born in 1930 in Tra Vinh . At the age of 15, he joined the Revolution. In 1954, he gathered in the North.

During the time of regrouping to the North, author Duong Linh composed the following works: July Night, Saigon Night... After 1975, he wrote the scripts Stormy Storm, Forever Bright Star, In the Storm, Bui Thi Xuan... He also published several books: Hidden Corner, Release of French Prisoners in Saigon 1950, Nguyen Trung Truc - Tragic Song...

After April 30, 1975, he returned to Ho Chi Minh City, worked at Ho Chi Minh City Television for about 10 years, then participated in the activities of the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association, Ho Chi Minh City Cinema Association, actively composed film and theater scripts... In 2023, he was honored to receive the 75-year Party membership badge.

At musician Nguyen Van Sanh's home in District 2, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Dinh Thi Thanh Thuy visited and presented gifts to the musician who composed many songs about Uncle Ho.

Leaving musician Nguyen Van Sanh's home, the city's leadership delegation went to People's Artist Ho Van Thanh's home in District 8 to visit and give gifts to the multi-talented musician.
