Thanh Hoa: Issued a plan to organize the Summer Opening Ceremony, Olympic Day and Launch a campaign for the whole population to practice swimming and prevent child drowning in 2025

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province has issued Plan No. 2469/KH-SVHTTDL on organizing the Summer Opening Ceremony, Olympic Day and launching the nationwide swimming practice, preventing and fighting child drowning in 2025.

The plan aims to practically respond to the Month of Action for Children; the International Olympic Movement (June 23, 1894 - June 23, 2025); the anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025) and the founding day of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team (May 15, 1941 - May 15, 2025).

The Summer Opening Ceremony, Olympic Day and the Launch of the National Swimming Practice and Child Drowning Prevention Campaign in 2025 were attended by about 500 teenagers and students.

At the same time, promote and mobilize children to actively practice physical exercise, sports , and entertainment to improve their health, physical strength, stature, cultivate moral qualities, personality, life skills, comprehensive development, and prevent and combat accidents, injuries, and drowning; so that all levels, sectors, and people pay attention to developing the movement of teaching and learning to swim, creating healthy and useful playgrounds, improving health, physical strength, stature, and preventing and combating drowning for children.

According to the plan, the "Summer Opening Ceremony, Olympic Day and Launching the National Swimming Practice, Child Drowning Prevention in 2025" is expected to be held on June 18, 2025 at the swimming pool of Thanh Hoa Province Sports Training and Competition Center with the participation of about 500 teenagers, students and people in Thanh Hoa city and coaches, swimming and diving athletes of the province participating in the performance.

Meanwhile, the launching ceremony will be held at the district, town, city level (new administrative units: communes, wards) and sectors during the summer from June 2025 to August 2025 at Children's Houses, Cultural and Sports Centers, Youth Activity Centers, sports and physical training and competition areas, entertainment areas and existing swimming pools throughout the province.

The plan states that, depending on the actual situation, localities will select units to organize the Launch Ceremony at the district, town, and city levels and direct units, communes, wards, towns, schools, and water sports facilities to promote initiative and creativity in organizing the Launch Ceremony.

The program of the In-service Launching Ceremony at the district, town and city levels will combine the Launching Ceremony for Children to Practice Swimming, Prevent and Fight Drowning with the organization of the Summer Opening and Children's Olympic Day; organize walks, gymnastic performances, physical games, competitions, sports tournaments, diverse and rich cultural and artistic activities to create a spread of the movement of physical exercise, sports, swimming, preventing and fighting drowning and responding to the Month of Action for Children, commemorating the 84th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team.

The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests localities and units to effectively implement tasks according to the Plan.
