According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather across the country will continue to be complicated during the day and night of July 31, with showers and thunderstorms in many places, along with the risk of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
Other areas have scattered showers and thunderstorms; in particular, the western region of Quang Tri province, the Central Highlands and the South have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 10 - 30 mm, locally over 60 mm.
People should be on guard against thunderstorms that may include tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds. Localized heavy rains may cause flash floods in small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
On July 31, the area from Thanh Hoa to Hue will have scattered showers and thunderstorms; the South will be hot and sunny. Southwesterly winds will be at level 2-3. There is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms. The lowest temperature will be from 26-29°C; the highest in the North will be 32-35°C, and in some places in the South, it will be 34-36°C.
It is forecasted that from August 1, the heat wave in the Northern region will end, while the heat wave in the Central region is likely to last for many days to come.
